Recuperar correo borrado

I need a solution

Alguien sabe si es posible recuperar un correo eliminado por una regla dentro de Symantec Messaging Gateway? El correo lo ah eliminado porque el dominio estaba dentro del  Local Bad Sender Domains y la accion es eliminar los correos, quiero ver si hay forma de recuperarlo. La version que tengo instalada es la 10.0.0.7, Gracias

Hi

 

 

We plan to change mailserver. But until all users is moved to the new server I cannot change the domain Destination Routing for our mail domain.
 
I have tested adding two destination hosts, if delivery fail on the first the second is used.
This did not work. I receive a Invalid recipient address error from the first host. The second is not used at all.
 
Can I use Directory data source to make a Routing Query?
It look like it working but when run a test mail, the mail is not delivered.
I have used the field Alternate mailhost attribute to point to the correct mailserver. I used the carLicense AD attribute.
But how can I always use that field?

Hi,

We have recently upgraded our appliance from 9.4.4 to 10.0.7. after upgrade while we releasing spam mail for particular domain it is not releasing and still showing in the spam gateway and for that same domain users many mails are not receiving from outside, but when  we checked in message audit logs it is telling as hold message in spam quarantine but there are no mails in spam.

How to solve this two problems?

Our end-user’s Anti Spam SBG has encountered error which some of our emails were filtered. The problem is happening due to 4 fields "LastScanOID", "LastScanOIDCheck", "LastScannedVersion" and "LastScannedVersionCheck" which are added by Symantec while scanning the attachments. Anyone can help me on this? Cause some of webmail users can't open any attachment or even the mail.

Hello everyone:

 

I have an Exchange 2003 server and a SBG 8.0.3. This SBG is working fine with inbound messages.

 

I'm trying to configure my Symantec Brightmail Gateway 8.0.3 as Exchange 2003 Smarthost, I think I have miss some configuration. What I've already configured is:

 

Administration / Hosts /Configuration / SMTP / Mail Filtering : Activate Inbound and outbound mail filtering

Administration / Hosts /Configuration / SMTP / Outbound Mail Acceptance: Added Exchange 2003 IP address

Administration / Hosts /Configuration / Internal Mail Hosts: Add Exchange 2003 IP address

Also in my Default Group Settings I enabled only Outbound Antivirus Policies.

 

In my firewall I create a policy for my SBG for using SMTP protocol.

 

When I configured my Exchange 2003 for using SBG as Smarthost, my email messages are not being deliver. I received an email with an "address rejected message".

 

Has someone configured succesfully SBG as Smarthost? Could someone share documentation about it?

SIN (Canadian SSN) Validation Pattern

Running 10.0.0-7

Does a regular expression exist to validate a SIN (Canadian SSN) in content filtering?
There's not much point in using the basic regex as they block anything from 111-111-111 to 999-999-999 with zero validation.

I see a US SSN (Premium) pattern exists but not Canadian.

Symantec Messaging Gateway 10.0 - rDNS verification fails when querying round-robin DNS entries

I have recently enabled "Reject connections where the reverse DNS record exists for the connecting IP address, but the 'A' or 'AAAA' record of the resulting domain does not match the connecting IP address" in DNS Validation.  We have found that senders are rejected if they use round-robin DNS records as the IP doesn't match the "A" record as the DNS server returns a different IP on each query.  We have had to disable this DNS Valication check.  Does anyone know a work around for this, or is Symantec working on a fix?

SMG Initial Setup: IPs for both interfaces?

I need a solution

I am setting up a SMG appliance in the near future and am a bit confused on how best to configure the appliance.  I am going to define the appliance as a combined Control Center and Scanner and the Scanner will do both inbound and outbound scanning.

I will use both of the ethernet interfaces, giving them example IP addresses of 192.168.70.70 and 172.168.70.71.  According to the documentation, these are both defined at time of initial appliance setup.

When I create the Scanner, the documentation indicates that I will be prompted to Create Virtual IP Address.  I can select the ethernet interface, but then I should type the IP address for the virtual server.  This is where I get a bit confused.  It seems that I need to type another IP for an interface that has an IP already defined in initial setup?

Any help and guidance would be very much appreciated.

Upgrade Messaging gateway on VMware vSphere 4  to 10.0.0-7 sep-09-2012 with no problem but I got problem with updates at oct-02-2012

 

The virus & spam definitons is 6 days old

Messaging Gateway Update to 10.0.0-7

I need a solution

I just updated our messaging gateway to verison 10.0.0-7. It is running on a gateway appliance model 8320.

After the update our spam definitions is showing a status of: "The definition has a timestamp in the future"

How can I correct this? I am assuming the system will not check, or download and install updates if the appliance thinks it is already up to date.

Virus Detected on Messaging Gateway

I need a solution

We are using the Symantec Messaging Gateway version 10.0. I noticed on the status tab that it is showing one occurrence of a virus detected. When I click on the details it shows the date and time, but doesn't show anything about whether the email was deleted or what the email subject was or who it was sent to. If there is an email that has a virus I want to look at it and decide whether to delete it or not. Maybe once a virus is detected then the message is automatically deleted, but i'm not sure. I attached a document showing the virus detection.

The old server(appliance) has roles: control centre and scanner. The customer decides to separate to one control centre(VM) and one scanner(VM)?

Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade our brightmail scanners from version 9.5.3.3 to the latest 10.0.0.7

Just have a couple of questions,

Does anyone have a rough time of when this completes? Obviously I'll be doing the control centre first then the scanners (We have two) after? I just want to plan the best time for this...

Also if i restrict mail flow while I do this and flush the queues, will spam be delivered to users inboxes for a period while it's updating?

Gateway 10.0.7 Customer-specific Spam definitions not updating

I need a solution

Anti-virus and anti-spam are updating just fine, several times a day. Only Customer-specific definitions are failing to update, the main status screen shows they are 17 days old. I regularly go in and submit false positive and spam deletions and we are all set up with a submitter code, so I'm not sure what's happening. No filtering or firewall issues that I'm aware of either. Any ideas on where I can start checking for a solution?
