Since Version 10.7.0-5 the disarm function cuts pdf filename with special characters like äüö. The recipient can't open the file. We need a solution for this big problem.

Version 10.7.0-5, Javascript in PDFs, DIR in XLSMs
I need a solution
Since the update to version 10.7.0-5, our SMG has been blocking email messages that contain PDFs with embeded Javascript or XLSM files with "dir" (whatever that means).
This is greatly impacting our business since a lot ot legitimate business emails have such attachments.
We want to block Javascript in emails, but we don't want to block PDFs that contain Javscript.
I have been trying to find a workaround, but nothing is working for me so far.
I even opened a case with Symantec Support and they suggested to create a higher compliance rule that would find and strip Javascriptfile.JS attachments, so that they wouldn't be picked up by the subsequent rule that quarantines executables. That didn't work at all.

getting this error 554 5.7.1 even after applying the workaround?!
I need a solution
i set up SMG which was working for some time untill one day the customer cant send any emails through the smg and is getting this error 554 5.7.1
i tried to uncheck the box for the "Reject connections where the domain provided at HELO and EHLO has neither an 'A', nor an 'AAAA', nor an 'MX' record in DNS." but still having this issue
i dont even understand this error? it says "The best solution is to have the owner of the IP addresses' DNS records add a PTR record to resolve that IP to a fully qualified domain name (FQDN)."
what do they mean? do they mean the customer sending exchange server doesnt have an A record and a PTR record? or does it mean the smg doesnt have an A and PTR record???

arp flux problem
I need a solution
Recently we had the following problem:
when a connection is established from a client on the same network segment (subnet) of the outbound i/f of sbg to the inbound i/f the responce is coming out from the outbound i/f using the ip addr of the inbound i/f. This is a known linux problem called 'ARP Flux", and the source is that " The kernel can respond to arp requests with addresses from other interfaces. This may seem wrong but it usually makes sense, because it increases the chance of successful communication. IP addresses are owned by the complete host on Linux, not by particular interfaces. Only for more complex setups like load-balancing, does this behavior cause problems.“
There sould be a way to overcome this by beeing able to control arp_filter, arp_announce and arp_ignore

eMails being block flagged via Symantec DLP are being quarantined in SMG. Incident Management happens outside Symantec DLP in a FAN-OUT Model. How can the blocked email be released from remote using the information in the Symantec DLP Incident (MessageID, Sender, ...etc.)?

Sizing Tool for Messaging Gateway Virtual Appliance
I need a solution
Hi everyone,
How do we size Messaging Gateway based on the number of users and mailbox for Virtual Appliance?
As I know Symantec has a sizing tool but I can't seem to find it anywhere. (including the partnernet etc)
Please advise if anyone has it?
I need it for a hyper-v environment. The article I checked does not state how many users/mailbox it can support based on the requirement given.

SMG 10.6.2-7 upgrade to 10.6.4.3 failing

Hello,
I'm trying to upgrade a production setup of SMG 10.6.2-7 to upgrade to 10.6.4.3. Download complete till the end and then failes.Tried multiple times and then rebooted appliance and tried. No success. Update.log says downloading packages failed. Any clue from team will be very useful.

SMG: Addressing a specific spoof technique
I need a solution
Hi Guys,
Any idea how to block a spoofed email with this specific technique, below is the condition:
a) At MTA (SMG) level, we can see the actual or the real source of sender domain/address
b) But when the email reach to user mailbox, it appears as spoofed domain
(local domain, this by right should only comes from internal Exchange)

Update 10.7.1-6 - anyone tried installing?
I do not need a solution (just sharing information)
Just wanted to see if someone already tried to install this update 10.7.1-6
We updated to 10.7.1-5 and were lucky that it didn't crash any of our production SMGs. But we got the Grub boot error on one of our UAT boxes and had to restore the VM from an older snapshot.
Kind of worried that 10.7.1-6 may have weird issues too.
P.S. both 10.7.1-5 and 10.7.1-6 are giving us errors while downloading.

I mean in the event of no email coming, we can see that the first email that being process would have larger delay than the subsequence email...
Is this normal and expected? If yes, how many seconds or miliseconds is fine standard?

New Version 10.7.1-6 SMG only for Scanners - Download Error

Dear,
Today the new version 10.7.1-6 is available for download only for the smg scanner , the version of the control center is manteince in 10.7.0-5.
The release notes of this new version https://support.symantec.com/us/en/article.doc11460.html this version is for select hardware and VMWare version , in my case the environment is virtual.
The other point is the message of "Download Error" in all the scanner, anyone can dowload and intall this new version for all component (Control Center and Scanners)

Kunde sendet Email, der Link wird angepasst.
Geht die Email als Antwort zurück, erkennt der Kunde diese als Phishing.
Es wäre sehr hilfreich, wenn diese Modifikation der URL wieder "rückgängig" gemacht werden kann.
ausgehende Emails auf den Zusatz zu prüfen und diesen zu entfernen.
Also Quasi das Gegenteil des eingehenden Weges.
