Our Spam filter/relay server is sending email to their client and it reach messagelab.com Server.

In the last few day it been listed as IP address had poor reputation. And i checked all the log and activites, and didn't see anything wrong.

The only things is i just got this IP moved to Digital Ocean last week. And i don't know the past history for this IP at all.

And able to remove from the list for about 24hours and it come back again. And now it been listed as Negative Reputation.

I checked blacklist search from mxtoolbox.com and return with all postive. Also it is not open relay server.

From the sysmantec ip check. it give follow resason.

The host has been observed sending spam in a format that is similar to snow shoe spamming techniques.
The host is unauthorized to send email directly to email servers.
Could you please tell me whats wrong and how to fixing it.

PS: My Server IP is 138.197.128.245

I need a solution

We have been receiving "The IP Address 185.153.222.46 was found to have a negative reputation." error for months and our mails cannot be delivered. We are a legit company and we are sure that we are not sending and spam or soliciting emails. When we request our ip to be cleared, it is cleared for a while but then, gets to the "bad reputation" list again in a short time. I searched the forum but could not find a solution to this matter. Could you please help us to resolve the issue and clear our ip permanently?

We are having the issue that is already aknowledged and described at https://support.symantec.com/us/en/article.TECH255476.html

We would like to remove the js extension from our attachment list, and i want to be sure it is replaced with the right true type version like it is described in the document.

But i do not know what true type format corresponds with .js

Is it part of the executable file class? I attached an image so you can see what i mean.

Hello everyone

I would like to know how to bypass content filtering policy Sender Authentication?

Is there any way to add exception for some domains if it is quarantined because sender id failed ?

I receive mails from some important domains but emails end up quarantined with content filtering violations (sender id failed).

I need a solution

I need a solution

We have one client using secured email service, which requires TSL excrypted messaging, but after enabling TLS for this domain, the TLSSTART command is still unrecognized..  Of course the SMG server at this point don't even know about the destination domain, and it's settings. So does the Messaging Gateway support TLS handshaking or not, and what might be the problem here?

Hello,

I have some issues with Symantec Messaging Gateway. One attachement is alway filtered out no matter what i do.

In the log there is an entry: unscannable for other reasons

I allready added the senders e-mail address to "good senders" with Deliver message normally, Bypass all content filtering policies, Bypass Threat Defense scanning as rules.

Is there anyone who can help me with this?

SMG upgrade from 10.6.4.3 to 10.6.6-5 failing

I need a solution

Hello,

We are trying to upgrade SMG CC+ Scanner and child scanner. Error message from log as "Error Downloading Packages:
  sms-smtp-modules-10.6.6-1.x86_64: failure: sms-smtp-modules-10.6.6-1.x86_64.rpm from symrepo_smg: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.".

Logged case with Sym support and suggested to download the ISO file locally. Then instructed to try the following command."As 'admin' run 'update -v 10.6.6-5 localinstall file:///data/tmp/Symantec_Messaging_Gateway_OSrestore_10.6.6-5_Linux_Int.iso'  ".

But as per my understanding we have to copy this file to HTTP or SCP Server. But the tecnician says above command also should work.

Can anyone please provide guidance.

Hi,

I have strange behviour it might be caused by misconfiguration of Symantec Messaging Gateway.

Whenever the users send emails to the outside (external) recipients, the receipients are reporting that all the emails coming from my organization email are treated as spam emails.

What could be the the issue with SMG? what are the configuration needed to be changed to solve the issue?

Is there a way to automate adding Quarantined senders to the Good Sender list?

I need a solution

The subject pretty much says it all. I have a user who would rather not have to manually enter addresses in his Good Senders list and asked if there is a way to automate the process. To my mind it would make sense that releasing a false positive from Quarantine added the sender to the Good Senders list.

Items Released from SPAM Quarantine

I need a solution

Hello everyone, when we release any email from the quarantine it doesn't go to the next hop server which is defined in the "Inbound local mail delievery hosts" attachment attached". Instead it goes to the server which is defined in "Control Center Setting" attachment attached".

Is this only applicable to the items when released from the Quarantine or the scheculed reports and alerts are also sent to the server which is defined in the control center setting but no in the inbound local mail delivery hosts?

Hi,
We, have recently acquired the /24 subnet of IP address (216.170.117.0 - 216.170.117.255). It appeared that all of IP addresses from this range were blacklisted because of: "The host has been observed sending spam in a format that is similar to snow shoe spamming techniques."
How can I clean up the reputation of this subnet of IPs?
